My New Years Resolutions (2018 Edition)

I’ve got several New Years resolutions, and I believe they’re from 2015. Shortly last January, I realized that I was a fish-out-of-water when it came to understanding politics. Words like “misogynist (could you believe it?)”, “conservative”, and even “libtard” (a word I believe to be an insult) confused me. I never made an effort to become familiar with these terms, but I plan to do so in the new year, simply so I can understand Twitter (and feel informed). I like to know what’s going on.

A second New Years resolution is to read more and read unfamiliar authors. Expand my vocabulary. They say ignorance is bliss, but knowledge is power, and I want to know what’s going on. Sounds a bit silly, but it’s true. I don’t like feeling clueless, especially if I don’t have to be.

My next New Years resolution is to get my life together. My brother and I moved into an apartment in October and we still need several things for the house, such as floor lamps, ice trays, a trashcan . . .  Stuff like that.

Number four is to be more productive, which means to always be improving. To me, that means journaling (every day if possible, to help clear my thoughts), sketching (because I still think I have a chance), and writing. I want to finish a short story every month, along with an old obligation: updating fanfictions once a week until they are complete.

I think that’s it for 2018. It’d be great to finish a book every month, write reviews for TV shows and movies on here, and to learn a few dances moves, but let’s be real here.

The first three are going to take six months by themselves, aren’t they? 😉

What are your New Years resolutions? Do you dare post them?
