I’m Almost a SCAD Alumna!

May 7th, 2020 // Status Report

Hi, everyone!

I need a new way to begin these blog posts! I wanted to see how you were all doing. I know we don’t interact much, but I’d love to hear from you all. How are you holding up during quarantine? Are you still quarantined?

I have three more weeks of college and then I’ll have my diploma! I’m working hard on all of my writing projects: Blood of the Fallen‘s pilot, Red Sugar, the podcast, and the (new!) VR script I have to write. I’m enjoying the diversity in my workload right now and I can’t wait to start polishing my work so I can add it to my portfolio.

Once I graduate from SCAD, I’ll have have 5 portfolio pieces: my feature films, Red Sugar and C.O.D.Y’s Intentions, my Blood of the Fallen pilot, my VR script, and my play, True Colors. I plan to keep polishing a few of these works so that my portfolio has strong pieces (and I need to make my peace with needing to rewrite my work a few times). I’m going to add the first acts of my films, play, and pilot episode in my portfolio. Due to the length of the VR script, the entire script should make it into my portfolio, too.

I’m really excited to graduate. I worked the entire time of college, part time at Starbucks with occasionally almost full time hours, and while I know the job market is looking a bit scary right now, I’m still ready to have my diploma in my hand.

I’m hoping to make all As so my GPA will be higher at graduation than it was when I first got to SCAD, and I’ve had freelancing on the brain lately. However, I don’t know the first thing about freelancing, so I’m going to look into that fairly soon. I’m juggling quite a few things at the moment, so . . .

I know this update is pretty short. I’ve been chugging away at homework this week. I hope to hear from you guys! <3

Stay safe!
